Snow, Aquarium and Circus Fun!

We had a busy and fun January!Dutch just finished up with basketball and will soon start soccer and tball. Lane is still dancing away, but will probably sit out for soccer this season. It just wasn't her thing last fall, maybe next fall when she is four?

Anyhow, we've had some cold days which led to the great snowfall of 2014 - not really, but wouldn't that be awesome?! We did get about an inch, so the kids ventured out for a sledding adventure. We were out of school & work for about three days (for what exactly? I'm not sure), so we decided to take a day trip to Charleston to visit the aquarium. Dutch has been begging to visit an aquarium - he loves all marine life, but has a slight infatuation of sharks. He absolutely loved this trip!

We finished out the month at the circus!

Our February promises to be just as busy and exciting, beginning this weekend with Dutch & DJ heading out of town for a ski trip with friends!

Brrr...Time for a Little Snowtubing

We've had a few really cold days...I'm talking delaying-school-start-times-cold. Now, I know some of our family is reading from "cold" parts of the US and thinking "psssh, you don't even know cold!" And, you're right, but for South Carolina, waking up to 8 degree temps is cold enough for me!

We decided to take the kids to Moonshine Mountain for some snowtubing this past weekend. This place is the biggest hole in the wall, but we go every year and the kids love it!

Brittany came with us this year!

Just waiting for our start time with a little cocoa

Jackson also came with us this year! Yes, they are sitting on a gorilla.

Happy 2014!!!

It's a new year, which always means time to reflect and time for change! We had an awesome 2013 which included trips to the beach with both sides of the family, a trip to the Keys with about 20 of our closest friends, Meghan and Jed returning home after traveling the Americas for over a year, more babies being born to friends, a growing business that DJ loves and throws himself into fully, new sports for the kids...I could go on! I really couldn't ask for more. I am sure 2014 will bring about more blessings and changes for our family and we are excited about that!

Merry Christmas to All!

We had a very busy week celebrating Christmas with all of our loved ones. The kids loved spending time with their cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, great grandparents....the list goes on. The most exciting thing for them was seeing what Santa brought them on Christmas morning. Dutch was the first up and to be honest, we have no idea when he woke up exactly. All that we do know is at 7:30 when he came into our room to wake DJ and I up, he rattled off everything that Santa had brought for himself and for Lane. When we walked into the den where their gifts were, they were scattered all over the room - he had clearly been up for a while and had played with a few things. Oh well, failed to capture that first look for him with his new bike, but not for Lane!

'Tis the Reason for the Season

Dutch's school put on the Christmas Story play this year and the best part is that it highlights the K5 class. Dutch was cast as Joseph and he did an awesome job!

Here is a picture of him with the cutest, Anna Parks, as Mary.
