Two month check-up

It's that time again! DJ, Dutch and I headed back to the doctor for Dutch's two month appointment. We were a little nervous in taking him as we knew it was going to be a shot day for him. And by shot day, I mean four shots and one oral vaccination. Surprisingly, we had nothing to worry about. He did so well and only cried for a second. The doctor says he is doing great and growing like a weed. He weighed 12 lbs. 5 oz. and was 24 in. long. Definitely not starving here!!! He won't go back again until he is four months old - thank goodness!

In the meantime, we have been keeping ourselves busy during the day. He loves tummy time on his play gym and likes to watch Baby Einstein when I'm getting ready for the day. He is such an good baby which makes my job easier.

DJ and I have also been busy the last couple of weeks and have more festivities to come. Last weekend, Dutch and I stayed with my parents while DJ attended AJ's bachelor party. This weekend I will be going to the lake for Kristy Huellmantel's bachelorette party and then next weekend we'll be headed to Charlotte for Kelley and AJ's wedding. Yes, our wedding season is just beginning and will continue into next year, but we are very excited about it! Nothing like good friends and good times!!!

Two months!

Dutch has now approached (and passed) the two month mark! He is now much more alert and smiles ALL of the time. He even tries to talk (coo) to us every now and then, especially if he's not getting the attention he wants! It is amazing to watch him learn and grow everyday. DJ and I love every minute we spend with him and wouldn't change being parents for anything! It also makes every minute better since he is such a good baby! I only pray every child we have has the same temperament.

My favorite time of day with him is in the morning just after he wakes up. He is so happy in the mornings and loves to hang out on the Boppy! Of course, that only lasts so long before he is asleep again!!!

Sweepy Boy!

Smiling!

I love this picture of him - calm and content playing with his blankie!

When Mom's away...

Today, I was able to have some time to myself thanks to DJ! It was nice to run a few errands and not have to worry about naptime, feedings, fussiness, etc. I need to take advantage of him more often! Once I arrived home, I found the boys sprawled across the living room floor with puffs, sleeping bags, the bouncer, the play gym and the swing all out. I could tell DJ must have tried everything known to man to entertain him.

This week we have been getting back to our schedules and realizing how lucky we were at the beach having all those other people to help us with Dutch. We were definitely spoiled by that and now it is back to the three (or four, counting Bella) of us.

This is what I came home to today...

I don't know if you can see that DJ attached the toys to his hands & feet!

First Beach Trip

We have just returned from being at Surfside Beach for the past week. It was Dutch's very first trip to the beach - in fact, it was a week of firsts for him. He loved every minute of the trip, especially those moments in the pool or being out on the beach. It was great to be able to get out of town for a while and be with family. We are so thankful that my parents decided to take all of us with them! It was so relaxing! It was also nice to have ten other hands to help out with Dutch when DJ or I needed a break. We are also thankful that my parents offered to watch him so that DJ and I could have a "date night" - the first since he was born. Here are some pics from our trip!

We love our big toothless grin!

Just in the last couple of days, Dutch has started smiling back at us! You never really know when he might do it, but we were lucky enough to capture one of them on camera! Check it out below...

In between getting him to smile, we have been packing for the beach. I never knew how much stuff a baby can have and how much of that you take with you to keep him satisfied. We will have a full load! We leave this Saturday and are very much looking forward to it!

He actually was awake - but his eyes were closed for the pic :)
