Labor Day Weekend

We have had a great weekend so far!!! Friday night we went to Bobbie's for dinner. Lorrie, Clare, Micah and the twins joined us for one of our last nights with Meghan before she heads back to Vermont. We continued that into Saturday for a fun day at the lake with everyone. It is so exciting to see Dutch at the lake; he really seems to enjoy the water and watching everyone. We took some great pictures of him with Rory and Kelan. It is so nice that they will grow up together!!! We haven't seen them in a while and they are getting bigger and bigger every time - hard to believe that they will be one next month!

We also spent Saturday with some friends to see Johnny one last time before he moves to Australia for two years. We watched the Tigers play (and get stomped!)- which I was completely out-numbered with all Carolina fans! It was a fun night though and we were just glad to be with him before he leaves.

Tomorrow, we will spend the evening with my family cooking out for Labor Day. It will be one full house as my sister, her husband and their two kids have moved in until their house is finished being built.

Check out our pics from the weekend thus far...

Last, but certainly not least...

I know this is my 4th post for today, but I did want to mention my Friday night. It was soooo good to see two of my best friends, Holly and Lauren, that were in town Friday night. With the help of DJ babysitting, I was able to head downtown to Stellar for dinner with my high school girlfriends and have a night out on the town. The only two missing were Jenna and Amy and we would have had all of us there! We don't get to see each other often so I love any opportunity we all get to catch up. It was a late night for us (well, compared to old days) and I was so dragging for a while on Saturday, but I LOVED every minute of Friday!

Until next time...

Congrats Kristy and Brian!

This past Saturday, DJ and I attended the wedding for Kristy and Brian Trickett. Kristy knows nearly all of Greenville, so we figured this would be an enormous wedding and it was! There were so many people there and we had so much fun catching up with those we haven't seen in a while as well as meeting a few new ones.

Dutch stayed with my sister, Kim, and her two boys. She sent a couple of pics to our phones during the wedding so we could see what fun he was having with his cousins and aunt.

Pics coming soon!

Sunday Funday!

Yesterday, we spent the day with family at the lake. DJ's sister, Meghan, is home from Vermont for the week and with the weather cooperating we figured the lake would be something we would all enjoy! We rarely get to see her so it was nice to catch up and spend time together. The last time we saw her was when Dutch was born, so I'm sure to her he is so much bigger! We had a great time just relaxing and soaking up the sun that occasionally popped out from behind the clouds! We took lots of pictures - here are some below!

Welcome to a good nights sleep...

We have now started Dutch on a little rice cereal at night and WOW, what a difference it makes in how long he sleeps. He now goes down around 9pm and will sleep until 6am (or this morning 7am). We are very lucky and we enjoy being able to get some quality sleep in too! We vary between spoon feeding it to him and putting it in his bottle. It all depends on how hungry he is at the moment, but he seems to enjoy it. Here are some recent pics of one of his first experiences with eating cereal.

There were two in the bed and the little one said "roll over!"

I definitely did not expect to be blogging again so soon, but today another milestone occurred - Dutch rolled over! We've been at my parents while DJ is in Charleston for the Fishing For Miracles Tournament, so hopefully by the time he gets home Dutch will be doing it more often and DJ can witness it as well. I am praying that they win the tourney and bring home some money :)

Tomorrow, I will be attending a going away party for Johnny Calmes on DJ's behalf. He hates that he is missing it, as Johnny will be in Australia for two years for work, but we know he'll have a great experience out there.

Sunday, I'm off to a baby shower for Adrienne Patrick. I love all these people having babies and we cannot wait for ALL of our friends to join in...but we'll be patient!!

I'll update soon with pics!

We've got a giggle box on our hands!!!

This past Monday, our little monkey laughed for the very first time! It was by far the cutest thing and we have been trying to get him to do it again ever since. DJ missed it on Monday, but just today he was able to see it for himself and it put the biggest smile on his face! We never know when he will do it...it seems to happen when I am making some dumb facial expression, but he thinks it is hilarious. I can't believe next week he will be three months old. It has flown by!!!

Here are more pics from his weekend stay at his Gran's house.

Congrats AJ and Kelley!!!

Woo Hoo - another one bites the dust! We just have returned from a great weekend in Charlotte celebrating the marriage of Kelley and AJ Norris. It was a beautiful wedding and she looked amazing! We enjoyed catching up with old friends and being able to get a full nights sleep in (sort of...as there were some late nights out on the town!) This was my first weekend away from Dutch and I surprised myself at how well I did - kind of :) I did have one "meltdown" on Friday night, but quickly pulled it together and enjoyed my weekend of freedom! We are so thankful that our parents were able to keep him while we enjoyed ourselves for the weekend. Both my mom and Bobbie said he did great, which helps me in knowing he was happy while we were away.

Here are some pics from the wedding as well as some of Dutch from the weekend that our family sent to my phone.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Joseph!

BIRTHDAY BOY!!!

Today my nephew, Joseph, turned three years old. We celebrated by going to Heritage Park in Simpsonville. He is in love with all things having to do with Speed Racer so that was the theme of his party. He got lots of toys and had a great turnout of kids despite the heat! Although Dutch may be too young to play with the big boys, he enjoyed watching everyone and just being there to help celebrate. Here are some pics from the party!

Just waking up to begin the celebration!
