Merry Christmas to All!

We had a very busy week celebrating Christmas with all of our loved ones. The kids loved spending time with their cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, great grandparents....the list goes on. The most exciting thing for them was seeing what Santa brought them on Christmas morning. Dutch was the first up and to be honest, we have no idea when he woke up exactly. All that we do know is at 7:30 when he came into our room to wake DJ and I up, he rattled off everything that Santa had brought for himself and for Lane. When we walked into the den where their gifts were, they were scattered all over the room - he had clearly been up for a while and had played with a few things. Oh well, failed to capture that first look for him with his new bike, but not for Lane!

'Tis the Reason for the Season

Dutch's school put on the Christmas Story play this year and the best part is that it highlights the K5 class. Dutch was cast as Joseph and he did an awesome job!

Here is a picture of him with the cutest, Anna Parks, as Mary.

Family Pictures 2013

We had my cousin with McDonald Photography take some family photos of us this year. They turned out great and considering we haven't had any professional pics of all of us since Lane was born, I was happy that we decided to do these!

Merry Merry!

This past weekend, we decided to set out for our annual visit with Santa at Roper Mountain. It's great because it is the same Santa since we started doing this when Dutch was born! This was the first year that both kids were comfortable with him and DJ and I didn't have to get in the picture too. They also told Santa their wish lists (a bike for both, remote control cars, scooters) - good thing Santa has most of those things covered!

Hello? Is it me you're looking for?

Ha! Well, lets see its been over a year since I last posted and it would take me days to catch you all up, so lets just touch upon the important things!

Dutch is now 5 (well 5.5 years if you asked him - you know those 6 months make a HUGE difference to him) and in kindergarten this year. He is loving his teachers and the fact that he was able to stay at his little preschool for K5 with all of his buds. He is still involved with soccer, tball and just recently basketball. It's great for him to be able to get some energy out and learn how to be a team player - the "winning" concept is coming slowly for him, but he is having fun and really at 5, that is what its all about! He is the sweetest, kindest little boy with the BEST manners!

Lane is now 3, going on 13! She loves playing with her brother being rough, but also loves playing dress up, watching princess movies, making a mess in my nail polish and wearing her "pretty" clothes (and sometimes these last two happen at the same time which is just great). She started soccer this past Spring and continues to take ballet and tap. I think she would enjoy gymnastics, but we are trying to pace ourselves with our extracurricular activities. She has a ton of little friends at school and also through our friends. She is sweet and spunky and beats to her own drum!
